'Disruptive' passenger kicks chair on United flight from Austin to Los Angeles

The FAA says it is investigating after a passenger became “disruptive” aboard a United Airlines flight traveling from Austin to Los Angeles earlier this month. Footage of the incident shows the passenger standing on top of one of the seats and repeatedly kicking it as fellow passengers sit calmly nearby. Police in Los Angeles said they determined the passenger was “under the influence and suffering from a medical episode.” United said the airline has banned the customer from traveling on future flights with the airline. Airlines have reported more than 1,800 unruly passenger incidents in 2024.
