'Great deal of concern’ around Hamas supporters from Gaza being granted visas

Independent MP Allegra Spender says there is a “great deal of concern” around allowing Palestinians who support Hamas into Australia. ASIO Director-General Mike Burgess has said Palestinians who express sympathy for Hamas will still be able to enter Australia. “We are all deeply concerned by what people are going through overseas but we also need to make sure that we are keeping ourselves and our community safe,” Ms Spender told Sky News Australia. “I am seeking further clarification and seeking understanding – how those visa applications are currently being managed.”
