'Never seen anything like it': Malarndirri McCarthy on youth social media impact
Assistant Minister for Indigenous Australians Malarndirri McCarthy says she has “never seen anything like” the impact social media is having on young Australians. “I do believe that our youth are being extremely influenced in such a negative way,” Ms McCarthy told Sky News Australia. “Especially those as young as 9, 10, 11, 12, when their minds are still being developed, it is hard for them to be able to filter the information in a way that protects them but also protects their families.” Need to talk to someone?
