'No Detention Policy’ Scrapped for Classes 5 and 8: Exams Now Mandatory for Promotion
The Central Government has abolished the 'no detention policy' for students of classes 5 and 8. As per a gazette notification, students failing year-end exams will not be promoted but will get an opportunity for re-examination. If they fail again, they will have to repeat the year. Teachers will guide these students and their parents, addressing learning gaps through targeted interventions. However, no student will be expelled until completing elementary education, as stated by the Ministry of Education. This move aims to ensure academic accountability and address gaps in foundational learning. #EducationPolicy #NoDetention #Students #SchoolReforms #YearEndExams #MinistryOfEducation #EducationNews #IndiaUpdates #AcademicChanges #indiatoday Subscribe to India Today for NEW VIDEOS EVERY DAY and make sure to enable Push Notifications so you'll never miss a new video.
