"Pepito" has weakened into a typhoon even as it crosses Nueva Vizcaya on Sunday night, according to the state weather bureau. PAGASA said Tropical Cyclone Wind Signal no. 5 has been lifted but signal No. 4 remains up over Quirino, Nueva Vizcaya, Benguet, La Union, and parts of Aurora, Nueva Ecija, Ifugao, Pangasinan, and Ilocos Sur.
