Sky News contributor Clare Row has weighed in on a range of Labor's cost-of-living relief measures set to help struggling Australians from New Year’s Day. Treasurer Jim Chalmers announced a range of measures aimed at providing relief, including an indexation freeze on pharmaceutical benefits scheme co-payments and payment increases for youth allowance recipients with dependents. Ms Rowe claimed that the measures that are set to kick in from January 1 are a "piecemeal splash-cash approach" that will have little real impact on families struggling to make ends meet. “I think we need to unpack these figures because I think on the outset they do look like they might provide relief, but the way I see it, this is a very piecemeal splash-cash approach and I don't think it's going to have much real impact on the families that I see that are really in pain at the petrol bowser and at the checkout,” Ms Rowe told Sky News host James Macpherson. “I think at the end of the day this is very much pre-campaigning dressed up as policy.”
