Jeon Je-young keeps replaying the video of a plane with his daughter and other 180 people on board slamming into a wall and bursting into flames at the Muan International Airport. "When I saw the accident video, it seemed like out of control when the plane entered the airport. The pilots probably had no choice but to do it. My daughter, who is only in her mid-40s, ended up like this. This is unbelievable," 71-year-old Jeon told Reuters on Sunday (December 29). Jeon's daughter Mi-sook was on the way home after travelling with her friends to Bangkok for Christmas holidays. Her death devastated the family, leaving her husband and a teen daughter behind. "She was almost home, she didn't feel (the need) to make a call. She thought she was coming home. By the time she took out her phone, the plane probably was crashed," Jeon said. The transportation ministry said the control tower issued a bird strike warning before the crash occurred. However, they said more investigations are needed to confirm the cause of the incident, without specifying whether the flight struck any birds. (Production: Dogyun Kim, Heejung Jung) Jeju Air flight 7C2216, arriving from the Thai capital Bangkok with 175 passengers and six crew on board, was attempting to land shortly after 9 a.m. (0000 GMT) when the airliner belly-landed and veered off the runway, erupting in a fireball as it slammed into a wall. Some 179 were killed, with two survivors pulled from the rear of the aircraft.
