Mary Ann Maslog, who previously made headlines in relation to the 1998 textbook scam and for faking her own death in 2019, was met with skepticism by senators on Tuesday (October 8) after claiming to have been tapped by the national police to mediate for Alice Guo's surrender in September. Aside from her claims, Maslog's manner of answering was also called out by senators, with Joel Villanueva telling her, "This is not Miss Universe," after her pageant-like response to his question.
