However, this trend has been met with criticism, with some labelling it as ‘entitled’ and ‘un-Australian.’ According to Sky News host Caroline Marcus, the use of cabanas to mark territory on the beach has become a common sight. Ms Marcus noted that while the cabanas themselves don't look terrible, she believes that the practice of using them to reserve beach spots is “un-Australian”.
