A new trend has emerged on Victoria's Mornington Peninsula, where beachgoers are using cabanas to reserve prime beach real estate. However, this trend has been met with criticism, with some labelling it as ‘entitled’ and ‘un-Australian.’ According to Sky News host Caroline Marcus, the use of cabanas to mark territory on the beach has become a common sight. Ms Marcus noted that while the cabanas themselves don't look terrible, she believes that the practice of using them to reserve beach spots is “un-Australian”.
