'We need leaders to stand with Afghan women', Malala Yousafzai speaks on life under Taliba
Since the Taliban seized power in Afghanistan, it has issued a series of decrees and guidelines that restrict women and girls' rights. It has been nearly two years since Afghan women and girls were banned from secondary schools and universities, and months since they were banned from speaking and showing their faces outside their homes. It's being described by the United Nations as a 'gender apartheid'. Director of 'Bread & Roses' Sahra Mani and women's rights activist Malala Yousafzai speak about their concerns on women under the Taliban rule. Malala Yousafzai tells Sky News: "We need leaders to be brave enough, to step up, to stand with Afghan women and girls and protect their rights."
