A hundred and fifty-five Ghanaian nurses have arrived on the island, as Government continues to augment its nursing complement. Minister of Health and Wellness Senator Dr. the Most Honourable Jerome Walcott welcomed them. He says the Queen Elizabeth Hospital and other healthcare facilities will benefit from the nurses, who specialise in various areas. Dr. Walcott was speaking to the media in the Grace Adams Suite at the Grantley Adams International Airport where he greeted Ghanaian officials who came with the nurses. Ghana's Deputy Minister of Health Adelaide Ntim says Ghana is pleased to continue sending nurses to Barbados. The first cohort of Ghanaian nurses came to the island in the midst of the COVID-19 Pandemic in 2020, while the second came in 2022.
