$2 Million For Unsponsored Steelbands

Pan Trinbago has been allocated $2,420,000 to distribute to 149 Unsponsored Steelbands for Panorama 2025. The Ministry of Tourism, Culture and the Arts held the Cheque Distribution on Friday in keeping with the Government’s commitment to provide funding to the steelpan fraternity. In December 2024, Cabinet approved increased funding for Unsponsored Steelbands and Steelpan players. For Single Pan Bands, Grant funding has increased from $7,500 to $10,000 per band while Grant funding for Conventional Bands has increased from $15,000 to $20,000 per band. Additionally, the per-player allocation has increased from $500 to $800. Speaking at the official Cheque Disbursement Ceremony, Minister Randall Mitchell said by providing this financial assistance, the Government ensures that every band, regardless of their sponsorship status, can take the stage with pride and deliver performances that uplift our nation.
