Government has settled the financing for three major projects that will boost the cultural industries. Prime Minister Mia Amor Mottley has announced that Cabinet has agreed to the construction of an amphitheatre at the Barbados Heritage District at the Newton Burial Ground, the Richard Stoute Amphitheatre at the National Botanical Gardens which will be completed next year, as well as the National Art Gallery. She made the announcement while addressing the official opening of the Marcus Garvey Amphitheatre in Queen's Park. Prime Minister Mottley is encouraging Barbadians to embrace the Marcus Garvey Amphitheatre, which she described as a space for the Barbadian family to go and feel a sense of awareness. She says Garvey's contribution to the development of modern democracy in Barbados cannot be ignored.
