A mob stormed an NCC camp in Kerala's Ernakulam district on 23 December, assaulting an Army officer serving as camp commandant following unverified reports of food poisoning among cadets. Videos show the officer being slapped and kicked. Two arrests were made after 7 days when the incident gained national attention. The Army and NCC are yet to issue official statements on the matter.
