A study reveals that six in 10 businesses in the Asia Pacific believe they will lose opportunities if they do not pay a bribe, while eight in 10 say giving kickbacks increases their chances of landing plum contracts. The study is by the Association of Chartered Accountants (ACCA), a global body. The study's lead author, Jason Piper from ACCA, discusses the challenges businesses face when it comes to operating in different parts of the world. He also delved deeper into whether corruption is becoming more rampant.
