After the Conservatives tabled a second non-confidence motion to try and bring down Prime Minister Justin Trudeau’s government the day after a failed first attempt, Opposition Leader Pierre Poilievre asked during question period on Thursday, “Who would be against the following motion?” Government House Leader Karina Gould rose to reply simply “Canadians.” She later added, “It's a little sad that the Leader of the Opposition, having just lost a vote of non-confidence in the government yesterday, is putting forward the exact same motion today. I think it shows his desperation.” Meanwhile, House Speaker Greg Fergus indicated that he docked three questions from the Conservative leader as a penalty after Poilievre declined to withdraw comments from a heated House of Commons exchange last week. NDP MP Heather McPherson said that while she appreciated the acknowledgement, she was “confused by the mixed messaging” by allowing Poilievre to continue participation. McPherson also raised concern regarding a controversial comment made by a Conservative MP during Wednesday’s question period, regarding Trudeau “sharing a bathtub with Tom Clark.” Conservative MP Garnett Genuis attempted to provide an explanation with context against the “false allegations” of homophobia, saying that the point of the comment “had nothing to do with sex.” For more info, please go to https://globalnews.ca/news/10776018/trudeau-macron-meeting-canada-france/ Subscribe to Global News Channel HERE: http://bit.ly/20fcXDc Like Global News on Facebook HERE: http://bit.ly/255GMJQ Follow Global News on X HERE: http://bit.ly/1Toz8mt Follow Global News on Instagram HERE: https://bit.ly/2QZaZIB #GlobalNews #Liberals #Conservatives
