A MASSIVE BRAWL HAS LED TO THE COMPLETE SUSPENSION OF TWO DIVISION ONE TEAMS FOR 3 GAMES EACH.
The ABFA has suspended both Five Islands and Jennings United after a fight broke out between both teams and their fans last week in Jennings. Acting president of the ABFA, Gwen Salmon says the sides have been suspended for their next 3 encounters for a total of 9 points each, which will be awarded to the teams that they are scheduled to face. Salmon, who is also chairperson of the Competition's Committee says both teams have appealed the decision handed down by the disciplinary cmommittee. If the suspension is upheld, it could negatively impact Five Islands' chances of winning the title as they currently head the 11-team Division One standings. The front-runners were leading hosts Jennings, 1-0 when the match was called off prematurely in the 85th minute.
