‘Additional red tape’: Jane Hume slams Labor’s IR reforms

Shadow Finance Minister Jane Hume has slammed the Albanese government over its industrial relations reforms which add “additional red tape”. The federal government industrial relations reforms are now in effect. From Monday, employees can refuse to respond to their bosses outside of work hours as part of the new ‘right to disconnect’. “It’s actually wrapping employers up in additional red tape and making some jobs completely unworkable,” Ms Hume told Sky News Australia. “This is going to very much change the nature of employment for so many employees, but more importantly for small businesses.”
