Advice for children experiencing challenges
Governor of the Central Bank Dr. Kevin Greenidge is advising children they can become anything they want to be in life once they dream big and work hard. Dr. Greenidge, who endured hardships as a child, says children who experience challenges can look to brighter tomorrows. He says setting goals, staying positive, working hard, helping others and looking forward to a bright future is the recipe to achieving success. The Governor made the comments to recipients of the Barbados Association of Professional Social Workers third annual Resilience Awards. While stressing the importance of helping others, Dr. Greenidge commended the association for establishing the Resilience Awards for children who overcame several challenges to sit the 2024 Common Entrance examination. This year 12 students from different primary schools received trophies and tangible support. The social workers will also be providing mentorship to the students throughout the first three years of their secondary school journey.
