AFL racism allegations becoming a tool for 'political activism' over 'factual reporti

Institute of Public Affairs’ Daniel Wild discusses the recent claims of racism at an AFL club. Senior executives at AFL’s Collingwood Football Club have been accused of highly offensive racial slurs towards Indigenous players and a Jewish colleague. “By and large journalism has become a tool for political activism rather than factual reporting,” Mr Wild told Sky News host Rita Panahi. “They are very eager to jump on anything that will support their narrative that Australia is a bad, racist, backward country. “Sadly, sometimes that narrative gets out before they have a proper command of the facts.”
