Africa releasing more carbon into atmosphere than it absorbs

Africa no longer absorbs more carbon from the atmosphere than it releases. Research outlines how in the past nine years, Africa is adding to the carbon in the atmosphere. This indicates that the rate of carbon emissions from the continent has accelerated. A researcher with the Global Change Institute (GCI) at the University of the Witwatersrand, Yolandi Ernst, discussed this with eNCA.
