Computer chip designer Nvidia has come to dominate the market for chips used in artificial intelligence (AI) systems, which process large amounts of data for AI workloads. Nvidia is the third-most valuable company in the US, behind only Microsoft and Apple. Startup Groq is challenging Nvidia’s market dominance and has raised nearly a billion dollars for its alternative AI chip development.
