A new report has revealed workers contributing to major Sydney transport projects have been breathing in toxic levels of crystalline silica dust. The Sydney Morning Herald reported one in three air quality tests conducted at City and Southwest Metro construction sites failed workplace safety standards. In some instances, the dust levels were found to be 208 times above the legal limit. Further testing has been blocked by SafeWork New South Wales.
