Alabama woman receives gene-edited pig kidney transplant in experimental surgery

Thousands of people in the U.S. are waiting for organ transplants but there are not enough donors. One solution to the shortage may be found in pigs. A Georgia grandmother is now the fifth person to receive an organ transplant from a genetically modified pig.
