Albanese government has ‘taken its eye off the ball’

Shadow Finance Minister Jane Hume has criticised the Albanese government for taking its “eye off the ball”. Support for the Albanese government has fallen, according to the latest Newspoll. Labor’s primary vote has decreased to 32 per cent, while support for the Coalition has increased to 39 per cent. “I don’t think a hung parliament is good for any Australian – we’ve seen that before,” Ms Hume told Sky News Australia. “What this poll, however, tells me is whatever reset the government were looking for over the break hasn’t been achieved. “Australians now know that the government has taken its eye off the ball, that the government’s priorities aren’t the same as Australians’ priorities.”
