Albanese government ‘on the nose’ in Queensland

As Prime Minister Anthony Albanese prepares to call the federal election, the performance of the major parties has come under scrutiny. Speaking with Sky News Australia, Courier Mail columnist Des Houghton said that Labor is "on the nose" in Queensland, arguing that the party will likely struggle to pick up any additional seats in the state. “Labor only holds five [House of Representatives] seats in Queensland and struggled to get any more than that. It may pick up the old Kevin Rudd seat of Griffith from the Greens, but I see it struggling after there,” Mr Houghton said. “Labor is on the nose in Queensland.”
