Albanese government ‘very concerned’ with escalating tensions in Lebanon

Prime Minister Anthony Albanese says he is “very concerned” about the situation in the Middle East and urged Australians to leave Lebanon as it is “not a safe place”. “We are doing our best to look after Australian citizens,” Mr Albanese said during a media conference on Friday. “We have been warning for many months now, pleading with people to please leave Lebanon.” His remarks come after the government secured flights for Australians to evacuate from Lebanon.
