Alberta mulls boosting US border patrol in effort to prevent Trump tariff
The Alberta government will put a call to Montana, in an effort to show it’s taking a harder stance against illegal items crossing the border. At the same time, Premier Danielle Smith is pondering sheriff border patrols and drones. Smith’s pledge came after an emergency meeting this week to strategize with Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and other premiers over threats from incoming U.S. president Donald Trump. But some say the province is creeping into federal jurisdiction in more ways than one. Morgan Black explains.
