‘American power’: Donald Trump ‘laying down the law’ ahead of inauguration

Former Howard Government Minister Peter McGauran says Donald Trump is projecting “American power” which is setting the tone for his upcoming administration. President-elect Donald Trump has left little to the imagination in expressing his aspirations of his ‘America First’ leadership, explicitly declaring Greenland, Canada, the Panama Canal and the Gulf of Mexico should fall under the banner of the red, white and blue. “He is laying down the law that the Americans have vital economic and security and defence interests and won’t be pushed around and will stand up to Russia and China as a consequence,” Mr McGauran told Sky News Australia.
