AMR a 'silent pandemic'
A silent pandemic - that's how antimicrobial resistance (AMR) is increasingly being described. Director of Clinical and Diagnostic Services at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital Dr. the Most Honourable Corey Forde says the full scale of the threat is often underestimated, despite the rising global death toll. He says there is a growing concern of sexually transmitted infections becoming resistant to treatment, even right here in Barbados.
