Animal activists call for rescue of 'Boogie the Monkey' from Ontario zoo

Animal welfare activists are calling on the province of Ontario to rescue a young macaque monkey. “We have filmed (Boogie) performing stereotypical behaviours which includes spinning in circles, pacing back and forth in a repetitive motion and also appearing to bite himself,” animal rights lawyer Camille Labchuk tells Global News. Labchuk says she’s watched 'Boogie' display concerning behaviours and repeatedly called on provincial animal welfare services to intervene. Global’s Caryn Lieberman has more.
