Government has maintained its stance on restricting the movement of animals from areas affected by foot-and-mouth disease. Animals must not be taken to marketplaces for sale until they are fully treated. Currently, over thirty-five districts in the country are under quarantine, where animals such as cows, goats, and pigs cannot be sold at markets. This restriction has led to an increase in meat prices for consumers.
