Annual Barbados Independence church service held in Toronto
Celebrations for Barbados' 58th anniversary of Independence and 3rd anniversary as a Republic are underway in the diaspora, with the island's missions playing a key role. Barbadians living in Canada converged on the St. James Cathedral in Toronto for a church service. It was held under the theme "From Fields to Festivals: Hope in the Face of Hardship". Acting Counsel General David Gibbs highlighted Barbados' stable political system and strong education system. He told the congregation Barbados continues to do well. Several other activities are planned as Barbadians in the diaspora mark Independence.
