Anthony Albanese ‘confident’ he can maintain voter support into next election

Prime Minister Anthony Albanese has expressed confidence that his Labor government will receive support from Australian voters in the next federal election. His remarks come as numerous polls suggest the Albanese Labor government is at risk of losing its majority. “We’ve seen economies like the UK, Japan and New Zealand go into recession,” Mr Albanese told Sky News Political Editor Andrew Clennell during a press conference on Tuesday. “What we’ve done is manage to keep the economy in the black to deliver not one but two budget surpluses.”
