Art is a subject area which helps to bring out the creativity in people, especially children, and should not be stifled. That's the view of Historian and retired Principal at Queen's College, Dr. David Browne. He made the remark as the school, through its Legacy Art Exhibition, paid tribute to him for his dedicated years of pushing visual arts, paving the way for Queen's College to attain a number of local, regional and international awards. The exhibition displayed a collection of visual arts as well as art and design, which included a portrait of Dr. Browne himself painted by Maurice Forde of the QC Class of 2007. Dr. Browne says there always existed a passion at Queen's College which inspired the creative and he welcomed that. Current QC Principal Mitchelle Maxwell lauded the effort of Dr. Browne to the arts programme, stressing that he gave unwavering support and exhibited a passion for heritage and culture at the school.
