Assisted living firms in sandbox welcome rules allowing easier hiring of foreign manpower

Assisted living firms under a Government sandbox have been given a bigger allowance to bring in foreign workers as caregivers, compared to ordinary nursing homes in Singapore. For every three seniors under their care, they are allowed to hire one worker. While firms say the hiring ratio helps their manpower situation, the concern is finding those with the right skills. CNA's Glenda Chong speaks to Director and Co-founder of the Assisted Living Facilities Association of Singapore, Dr Belinda Wee, who touches on the gaps that still need to be filled.
