At least 110 killed after M6.2 earthquake jolts northwest China

China has upgraded the national earthquake emergency response to Level II after a magnitude-6.2 earthquake jolted northwest China on December 18, killing more than 110 people. The quake jolted Jishishan County in Gansu Province, five kilometers from the border between Gansu and Qinghai provinces. The earthquake so far has killed 100 people in Gansu and 11 people in neighboring Qinghai.
