At least 32 people killed after 6.8 magnitude earthquake strikes remote region of Tibet

At least 32 people have been killed after a magnitude 6.8 earthquake hit Tibet, in China's west, according to local media. The quake, which originated around 10 kilometres underground, struck several villages near Shigatse, one of Tibet's holiest cities. Several aftershocks up to a magnitude of 4.4 followed after. Residents in neighbouring areas of Nepal, India and Bhutan have also reported feeling tremors. Authorities have been sent to the affected areas to assess the damage.
