At least 70 killed by Israeli strikes in Gaza amid ongoing ceasefire talks

Relatives and neighbours searched the wreckage of a home destroyed in Gaza City after an Israeli airstrike killed at leasr seven on Saturday. Palestinian officials say Israeli military strikes have killed at least 70 people since Friday. While the Israeli military said it targeted people involved in terrorist activities, residents who witnessed the strike in Gaza City’s Sheikh Radwan neighbourhood claimed civilians were killed. “All of them were civilians,” said eyewitness Abu Hussam Nattat. “Our neighbourhood, from the start of the war, has been quiet – there have been no problems," he added. Israeli mediators are in Doha, Qatar, taking part in talks aimed at ending the war with Hamas and returning the hostages taken by the militant group on Oct. 7, 2023.
