Australia's healthcare system 'not fit for purpose'

Pfizer’s Australia and New Zealand Managing Director Anne Harris claims Australia’s current healthcare system is currently “not fit for purpose”. "It's not fit for purpose and it clearly points to a system that has been working effectively to a level for over 30 years," Ms Harris said. "We have had the same system in place for how we evaluate and bring medicines to the public through the PBS. "The time is now to look at the review and the recommendations and make changes to ensure that Australians now and into the future have the opportunity to have the innovation that is going to make a difference to their lives."
