Australia will stand with Ukraine for ‘as long as it takes’: Anthony Albanese

Prime Minister Anthony Albanese says Australia will stand with Ukraine for “as long as it takes”. This comes as Russia’s war against Ukraine nears its two-year mark. Ukraine has also upped its appeal for an urgent humanitarian shipment of Australian thermal coal amid the threat of a possible major blackout. “We give appropriate consideration to all requests – we do that in a way that is diplomatic ... but we are already very significant contributors to the Ukrainian efforts to defend their sovereignty,” Mr Albanese told Sky News Australia. “We’ll continue to engage in a mature, considered way with Ukraine, and we stand with Ukraine for as long as it takes.”
