Liberal Senator Dave Sharma says Australian government has a “duty” to not endanger the “citizens of this country”. Palestinians who express sympathy for Hamas will still be able to enter Australia as a new visa pathway for refugees in Gaza is set to be announced. “We have a duty to every citizen in this country not to allow people who come to this country who might endanger them or endanger our own democracy,” Mr Sharma told Sky News host Chris Kenny. “It’s a choice we make as a nation.”
