Australian sharemarket posts record high in ‘cracking’ September quarter

Commsec Market Analyst Laura Besarati says the Australian share market ended the September quarter cracking a “fresh record high”. The local market opened lower this morning, falling from the record high it set yesterday. “We wrapped up our best quarter of the year and the best September quarter since all the way back in 2013,” Ms Besarati said. “We gained 6.5 per cent over those three months and we actually outperformed the US market.”
