Australian wages up 0.8 per cent in June quarter

Wages grew on average by 0.8 per cent in the June quarter, according to the latest figures from the Australian Bureau of Statistics. Sky News Business Reporter Edward Boyd pointed out that the number was slightly higher than economists forecasted. “Wages increase an average annual rate slightly higher than expected of 4.1 per cent, the market was expecting four per cent,” Mr Boyd said. “So wages have accelerated a little bit more than anticipated.”
