Australians want a ‘well-funded’ viable aged care system focused on meeting ‘care needs’

Older Persons Advocacy Network Chief Executive Craig Gear discusses the importance of “high quality” aged care services amid the governments new reform. The government has unveiled a $5.6 billion plan to reform aged care with support from the Coalition. “People have universally told us they want a well-funded viable aged care system that is focused on meeting their care needs,” Mr Gear told Sky News Australia. “Most of the people who we’ve spoken to over the last year have said they are willing to pay more if they can see where the money is going and its actually providing them with high quality aged care services.”
