B'dos proposes expansion of EPG to further assist Haiti
Barbados' Ambassador to CARICOM, David Comissiong has recommended the institutionalising and expansion of the Eminent Persons Group. The suggestion was put forward during a forum titled "Haiti Now: Development Priorities and Interventions" organised by the Caribbean Development Bank. The three-member group consists of former Prime Minister of the Bahamas, Perry Christie; former Prime Minister of Jamaica, Bruce Golding; and former Prime Minister of St. Lucia, Dr. Kenny Anthony. He wants the group that was appointed by CARICOM Heads of Government to be transformed into a permanent or semi-permanent entity.
