B.C. man wins 'Stick of The Year' contest with Cowichan driftwood

Marcus Barrick, a Duncan, B.C.-based musician and author, felt a connection when he picked up a piece of wood in the forest one day. That stick went on to beat entries from all over the world to be named "Stick of the Year." Barrick won't reveal exactly where he found the stick, but says it was in a river bed in the Cowichan Valley.
