BAEH seeing increase in homeless women
The Barbados Alliance to End Homelessness says it's seeing an increase in the number of women who are becoming homeless for different reasons. Mental health issues are also an area of concern. The revelations came during a press conference held by the Alliance at its headquarters. Client Relations Manager Rica Edey has provided some details about the worrying situation. Meanwhile, Head of the Alliance Kemar Saffrey says the growing number of elderly finding themselves on the island's streets is also a major concern. He says while it's within the Alliance's remit to see after the wellbeing of the island's homeless, the reality is the more elderly people may need more specific intervention.
