Bajans urge to 'Come Back to Church'
Moved by what it sees as a broken society and in a bid to retain its numbers the local Methodist church is working to get more Barbadians back into church. It will be doing so through the James Street Come Back to Church campaign. Superintendent Minister of the James Street-Speightstown Circuit Reverend Derrick Richards says it will be a journey, that will not only enhance lives but the community. Reverend Richards who is also Bishop of the South Caribbean District of the Methodist Church in the Caribbean and Americas, says the church intends to focus on children and the youth. Speaking on Mornin' Barbados he said music and the arts will be utilised as part of the outreach. Meanwhile, Reverend Nicholas Chambers says the church recognises the world has changed and it has to as well. He says it will also be building on relationships with other organisations in Barbados.
