Student ballet dancers glided along the banks of the River Thames to spark feelings of hope amid the accelerating pace of climate change. The performance, which featured young dancers from London's Central School of Ballet, forms part of the capital's Climate Action Week. The aim of the show, according to organizers, is to remind people that hope requires us to perform individual acts to address the climate crisis. Speaking about the performance, choreographer Daniel Davidson said, "I think that it represents a kind of universal recognized feeling and emotion." "We're at a place where things can feel a bit desperate and I think that it's important to remind ourselves that we're all in this together and there are things that we can do and it's hopeful," Davidson added. It is the latest stage in Climate Basecamp's 'Performing Hope' campaign, which launched at Davos in January 2024 with a cello and ballet recital in front of a Swiss glacier. - Report from Reuters
